Shibani Nayak is an abstract expressionist artist whose work has shown both in India and internationally.
In her art practice, Shibani aims to discover and display the magnificent beauty and complexity of human emotions. Her subjects travel from being whimsical and joyous- like a vase of sunflowers that change the mood of a room; to complex and contemplative- like the act of proactively chasing joy in a dark world, or responding with wit to veiled insults hurled thoughtlessly by society.
Shibani Nayak’s first solo show in Paris explored colour as emotion and abstraction as language. Each painting offered a glimpse into her inner world — tender, instinctive, and alive with feeling.
