An artist’s love affair with flowers, and the moods and memories they evoke.
‘MOODS’ is the series that depicts the artists’ love affair with flowers.
Flowers are the mood makers of a room. Flowers set the stage for memories we make. The smell of the flowers, their colours, their bloom… it can feel like the vibe and thrum of any space.
This feeling- the moods of the flowers and the memories they evoke- that is what Shibani is trying to capture in this series. With each painting, she hopes her flowers transforms you into an entanglement of moods and the visual memories they evoke.
An ode to the complexity and beauty of human emotions.
With a background in psychology and people insights, Shibani has long been fascinated by human emotions: their whys, conflicts, joys, fears, and deepest motivations.
Her abstract work is a visual exploration of these inner worlds. Unlike the clarity of painting a flower, emotions are harder to picture. Whether it’s the unconscious, a fragile relationship, life’s bittersweet ironies, or the tender vulnerability of an artist’s heart.
Through Inner Worlds, Shibani paints emotional landscapes: her ode to our chaotic, complex, and magnificent inner selves.
The artist’s exploration of the relationships between black & colour, and the beauty that emerges out of negative space.
Black is my happy colour text: Shibani has always been a champion and true fan of bright, vivacious colours. But for this series, she wanted to work on a canvas which starts with negative colour.
Blacks can be magic when used as highlights. But blacks as the starting point- the highlight- and the landscape of the painting: that’s the challenge and the objective of this series.
This series is the artist’s exploration of the relationships between black and colour, and the forms that can emerge out of a background of negative space.
‘Postcards to Myself’ are intimate reflections the artist gathers while immersed in nature and landscape.
‘Postcards to Myself’ are intimate reflections the artist gathers while immersed in nature and landscape. Quiet notes to herself about life, connection, and belonging. Each piece is a visual reminder of lessons learned and moments of clarity, a keepsake from times when the vastness of nature offered its own gentle wisdom. A memento from a moment of greater understanding.
‘Why, Thank You!’ is Shibani’s playful answer to unsolicited commentary: The kind of offhand remarks or veiled insults that often come our way. Instead of shrinking from them, she flips them on their head, turning criticism into compliment.

It’s a cheeky, tongue-in-cheek response, but also a deeper statement of ownership. It’s an affirmation that refuses to being defined through others’ words. What was meant to diminish instead fuels an unexpected confidence. Why, Thank You! is both a shrug and a crown, a reminder that power lies in choosing how we receive.
The answer to every painting in this series, is Why, Thank You.
Too skinny? Why, Thank You! Too Smart: Why, Thank You! Hair too wild? Why, Thank You!
